Lawn Care Block Leads

In some neighborhoods most of the property sizes are very similar in size which means once you have a good measurement for one, you'll be pretty close for the rest. In some cities, actual lawn square footage can be obtained through the county treasurer's office. In either case, you can generate a lawn care estimate for each property by block.

The technique is to have a tech walk the street, or drive down the street and note the address of each home. The tech then fills in the lawn care estimate price on a door hanger and leaves that estimate on the prospects front door. Ideally, the door hanger should have a Business Reply Card attached to improve response. This process is usually done in late winter when lawn business is slow, but can be done anytime during the early spring or late summer.

In some programs, using a Criss-Cross directory, the phone number is looked up for each address and then telephoned. However, this must be done in accordance with the Do Not Call list requirements and the phone numbers must be checked against this list.

Block lead programs are ideally suited for companies that sell on price. We don't recommend selling on price, but we know there are some companies that have built sizeable companies based on having the lowest price in town.

Block leads are one way of exposing your low price to many homeowners in concentrated areas. Because these estimates were not requested, you can not call the homeowner to follow-up.
