That was the year Yes Marketing was formed, when ServiceMaster
purchased Barefoot Grass. Our president and CEO, Don
Nichols, was VP of Marketing for Barefoot Grass with over 120 franchises
and company owned branches. The opportunity to continue serving the marketing
needs of lawn care companies throughout the country was too great to pass
up.
Mr. Nichols helped build the Barefoot Grass corporation
into one of the leading lawn care providers in the world. While helping
to build the Barefoot brand, Mr. Nichols also developed a winning strategy
for direct mail and telemarketing programs. He tested almost every conceivable
way to generate leads and sales, some good, some were outstanding, and
a few were real stinkers. Through years and years of testing minute variables,
Mr. Nichols developed a winning package that Yes Marketing continues using
today.
When Barefoot Grass was sold, Mr. Nichols decided not
to be absorbed into the ServiceMaster corporation. Instead, as was his
dream for many years, he opened his own marketing company devoted to sharing
lawn care marketing tools and techniques for the thousands of independently
owned companies and franchisees across North America.

Spring and Fall campaigns.

to keep costs at a minimum, each campaign is designed to use the winning
formula: strength in numbers. Because we produce self-mailers for non-competing
companies across the country, we can purchase paper by the railroad car
to get the lowest cost possible. We gang print beautiful 4-color self-mailer
brochures and 4- and 2-color postcards so we get the minimum cost/thousand
and then pass those savings onto our clients.
